We care about

Friends & Family

Although many of our residents have chosen us independently, we also work regularly with the families of people who are no longer able to make that important decision.

For some people, making the decision to move into residential care is an obvious choice, but for others the idea is unsettling, or something they resist. Whether your relative is deciding for themselves, or they are no longer able to make the choice on their own and that responsibility is yours. We understand how stressful that can be, our help and support is available to you as well as to your relative.

Whatever your loved one’s particular needs, your first step is to speak to the Home Manager, who will discuss their circumstances with you to see whether this home is right. You will be welcome to visit us, with your family member if they are able (though we understand that may not always be possible), and to spend time with staff and other residents to get a feel for the home. It is important to us that you feel comfortable with the decision – especially if it rests on your shoulders alone.

We know that this can be an emotional time for all the family. Some people feel sadness, others, guilt that they cannot care for their loved one themselves. Others are relieved that the person will be getting the care they need – and those feelings can be hard to come to terms with, too. We have helped countless families through finding a compassionate, caring new home for a relative, and we understand what you are going through.
